Doing shows is a very important part of our school. We like to give the children lots of opportunities to perform on stage, with most of our shows being performed at Hyndburn Civic Theatre.

We are constantly teaching the children new numbers to keep it fun and exciting.

All the children love doing the show work, and the age ranges between two years and thirty years.

What The Pupils Say

I love dancing at the McLaren Dance Company because I get to see my friends and I learn lots of different styles of dance my favourite class is Hip-Hop. Miss Danielle is always really kind and helps me a lot she is the best teacher in the world.

I have been going to Debra's for 6 and a half years, I really enjoy Hip-Hop and I also enjoy ballet. I have learnt a lot of tricks since I've been there, like splits, cartwheels , walkovers and am currently learning to do a handspring.

I have met many friends there ,and I love Miss Danielle - she is so kind to me. Thank you Miss Danielle and Miss Debra.

My favourite lesson is Ballet and I love going to see all my friends.

Lilly Holden

I have been dancing at Debra's since I was 2 and a half. I do competitions all around the country and have won lots of medals. I dance every day and my favourite class is Dance Moms.

I love dancing at Debra's because the teachers are so encouraging, and every time I go I feel so happy because I'm doing something I love.

Charlotte Ashworth

I have been dancing at the Debra McLaren School of Dance since the age of 2. My mum originally put me into dance class because she thought I would give up after a week, and with the intentions of helping me to grow in confidence - sixteen years later I still attend the school and am still growing in confidence.

I compete around the North West at many competitions annually, winning over 400 medals and numerous trophies. I have recently completed my graded examinations in both RAD Ballet (Pre-Primary - Grade 8) and IDTA Tap (First Steps - Advanced II) all under the tuition of Miss Debra and Miss Danielle McLaren.

In November 2004 to January 2005, I performed as one of the juvenile dancers in 'Dick Whittington' along with the Chuckle Brothers at Manchester Opera House. In 2010, I, with some of the other girls from the school, was selected to perform in the Go-Pop Mini Live Fashion Show that took place at Warrington's Golden Square Shopping Centre modelling for Pumpkin Patch, Monsoon, Next, and Zara.

In the 16 years I have been dancing at The McLaren School, I have grown massively in confidence and my time in competitions and theatres with the school has sparked an interest in drama - which I hope to pursue further.
